An extendable curtain pole is a great option if you’re likely to move in the short or medium term too, because you can take your curtain pole with you even if the windows in your new home are a different size. Get the size just right
The length of pole you can create with an extendable kit ranges from 120cm to 300cm. If you need a pole any longer than that, it’s best to look at our metal curtain poles, which include options for up to 500cm. As with any other pole, make sure you order one that extends to at least 30cm longer than the width of your window. Then you can position the pole so there’s around 15cm either side of the window, which lets you stack your curtains away and maximise the light coming into the room.
When it comes to the diameter of extendable curtain poles, we offer two options – 16-19mm or 25-28mm. The smallest size for each is the thinner pole in the kit and the largest size is the thicker pole it slides inside. Both are suitable for light to medium-weight curtains.
