Ceiling-fix curtain poles for a practical alternative
To fix a curtain pole bracket to your wall, you need at least 10cm above the window or door where you’d like to hang curtains. If you’ve not got this space available, a ceiling-fix curtain pole is a great alternative – you can still hang curtains, even if your window or door goes right up to the ceiling. We have a wide range of metal ceiling-fix poles to choose from in black, brass, chrome and silver. So, whether your interior style is modern or traditional, muted or vibrant, we have options that will work for you.
When using ceiling-fix brackets, it’s best to fix the bracket to the timber joists in the ceiling. If you screw the brackets into plasterboard alone, it may not support the weight of the pole and curtains. Also consider the weight of your curtains when choosing the diameter of your pole. Our ceiling-fix poles come in diameters of 25mm and 35mm. If you have heavier curtains, a thicker pole is better to support the weight.
Going to great lengths
Our ceiling-fix curtain poles come in a wide variety of lengths, starting at 120cm for small windows and going right up to 600cm in the Hallis Arc range – perfect for long stretches of bi-fold doors.
If possible, your curtain pole should stretch at least 30cm wider than your window or door. Then, when you pull your curtains back, it maximises the light that can come into the room.
If you can’t find the exact length of pole that you need, it’s no problem. You can easily cut our ceiling-fix curtain poles to size. Just remember that, for long poles that arrive in two pieces, you’ll need to cut the same amount from each end so the joint stays in the middle.
Each kit contains everything you need
Your ceiling-fix curtain pole kit will contact curtain rings, brackets and finials (the decorative end pieces), as well as the pole. So you can get straight on with fixing your pole and hanging your curtains. If you’ve ordered a longer pole, it will come in two pieces with a connector and a third bracket to conceal the joint and give extra support.
