Speedy 28mm Ball 3 Sided Bay Window Ceiling Fixed Curtain Pole Antique Brass and Black

The Speedy Ceiling Fixed 28mm Ball 3 sided bay window curtain pole in antique brass and black, offers a differnt and stylish ceiling fitted bay pole set.

Complete with Balck Ball finials, antique brass nylon lined passing rings, black ceiling pass-over brackets, antique brass corner joints and poles. This stylish 28mm metal bay curtain pole will add a touch of elegance to your bay window.

The passing rings are nylon lined, to ensure they glide quietly. They have a small section cut out of them to allow it to pass effortlessly over the 5 supplied ceiling fixed brackets and allow your curtains to be fully opened, letting in maximum light to your room. The passing rings only work correctly when used with curtains that have lots of fabric tightly gathered in the heading of the curtain. The top pocket on the curtain heading tape must be used so that the top of the curtain sits beneath the bottom of the rings. If your curtain heading does not have lots of fabric tightly gathered, the curtains will pull down on the rings when opening and closing and this will prevent the rings from passing over the brackets.

The brackets supplied (5) are at a fixed position and fitted only to the ceiling. The bracket has a drop of 81.5mm (8.15cm) from the top of the bracket to the cup where the pole will sit. We advise having around 85mm (8.5cm) gap from the ceiling to the start of the window panel for these brackets to sit perfectly. Any less than this will make the pole sit too low below the window panel and this will not work well with your curtains stopping light from seeping in through the gap above the pole. The back plate of the bracket that fixes in place with screws has a length of 48.5mm (4.85cm). Please see the diagram provided to help you view the bracket dimension. Only 5 brackets are supplied giving you less obstruction across the bay pole. We advise placing 1 at the end of each side of the bay, with 1 in the middle and the remaining 2 along the pole. Please see the image where the letter B is placed for the bracket arrangement. We recommend using only a light to medium weighted curtain as the low number of brackets used in this bay cannot withhold heavy curtains. If you find the structure unstable you may want to add only a couple of extra brackets (this will be your choice and extra cost involved). But we find from using less brackets helps the rings glide better across.

We understand that not all bay windows are the same size, so our poles can be easily cut to size using a small fine tooth saw. Please check the number of poles supplied per kit.

The corner joints will allow the rings to glide around any angle from 110 to 180 degrees, meaning that this antique brass Speedy 28mm Ceiling Fixed Aspect bay window curtain pole is fit for most 3 sided bay windows. 

Curtain hooks must be placed on the top part of the curtain tab.

Please be advised, if your curtain does not allow the rings to glide across the brackets you will be expected to contact the curtain maker. The rings will work better if they are aligned, and this is affected by the curtain used. Tailored pinch pleated curtains are highly recommended. But if you buy pleated readymade, please check with the manufacturer if it will be suitable.

Note: We do not recommend this system for bay windows with 90 degree angles, as the bend will be too sharp for the rings to glide around smoothly. If you’re looking to install this kit on a large window with a height of 2.5m or more, please consider using drawing rods to help you lift the curtain across the pole.
